Great Video Donnie! What county are you from? I am also an East Tennessean and grew up in Monroe County and current out in the west side of the country for school. To be honest, it is kind of hard out here in the west as I get a bunch of negative comments about my accent, mostly because I am an African-American speaking like this. I love my background and the way I talk, but these comments kind of sting a little. Do you have any words of encouragement or ways to go about this? Thank you and God bless!
This was a great video. I could listen to you tell stories or describe things all day long. Thank you!
Spooky stories from the old mountain folk are my favorite and the scariest . Thank you and your friends for all these stories. ❤
Thank you for sharing the wonderful talent of the mountain people. Putting the quarter there so to see the size was such a good idea. What talent. What joy your channel is.
Learned A LOT from my tribe the Cherokee.
I have a question for you 🙋♂️, how is tree “Growth Factor” calculated from different species of trees? How is tree “Growth Factor” calculated? How is it calculated? How? I need to know this is because I am not too sure about how tree growth factors are estimated from different species of trees. I am not sure about that. I need to estimate a growth factor of a tree from each species of trees. I hope you can answer my questions.
I just found your channel today and it is a God send. I hope by this time in June 2024 you have recovered. You are a treasure and so thankful for you and your channel. 💛
loved it !!
Have the up front and close seats which is wonderful for watching all God's creatures out and 'bout doing their living. 💕
Hi Donnie, I have to say nothin gets me riled up more than to hear people call southern people no matter the state , to call them backward or ignorant !! With all the "rights" people yell and scream about over decades, I've often wondered why it hasn't been mentioned the down right prejudice that we southern folk have had to endure , calling us every degrading adjective in the book....As you can tell from my short rant...lol...I'll stand and defend southern folks way of life and their countless talents... Love your video as always. Maria 72 yrs old
Mister Bill is the same age my grandpa Tom would have been. I wonder how similar Grandpa Tom’s stories would have been if he’d been able to tell them. He grew up in eastern Kentucky.
A great story!
Great video of wonderful memories of times gone by thanks for sharing this with us 🙏
Thank you friend. Your very welcome.
I love the Little Rebel stories.
Thank you friend.

Hey Mr. Donnie Love this video I love Cades Cove it is absolutely amazing and beautiful so peaceful Ive got Cherokee blood from my mama's side
Awesome my friend. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless you.
Cades Cove was a loved place by my husband and I. Driving around the loop and getting out and walking in the beauty of the history like into the old church and blessed to be there at a time when we were the only ones. So simply made I think that pleased the Lord. Nothing fancy just a quiet place to worship Him. Sadly, since my husband passed away there will be no more lovely drives through the Cove but the memories are so treasured. Thank you for making this video it was such a blessing.
God bless you my friend. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thanks so much for sharing your memories.
Take care Donnie we’re praying for you and God bless you we’re here for you rest and get better soon 🙏🙏
Thank you friend. I'm doing much better now. God bless you.

As far as I know none of my direct ancestors worked coal mines, but it breaks my heart hearing about the kids who worked in the mines who had to help provide for their families.

I wonder why they never speak of MOSE GAMBLE, I meet him back in the 60's, we talked for hours every time meet. Some of you may remember him doing the molasses making at the grist mill.
Awesome my friend. Thanks so much for sharing. I never met him. God bless you.
I am 68 now and my Grandma made me doll furniture from cardboard boxes. Grandma would cut a Saltine cracker box a certain way, stuff it and sew fabric over it. She made chairs, sofas beds and tables. Can I buy some of his wood crafts? They are beautiful hand carved treasures. Thank you Donnie for filming this. I love your videos.
That's so awesome my friend. Thanks so much for sharing this. You can here and there, but they are hard to find and if you do they are expensive. Thanks so much for sharing this my friend. God bless you.

3:23 a. m., crying over my grandmother that loved me and I loved more than anyone in the world. A couple of things I KNOW I do like her is always hang out laundry. Although I have a dryer, I hang laundry even in winter. ( freeze dried smells wonderful). Step in a kitchen first REQUIRES an apron. Grandma, I still will ALWAYS love her.
God bless you my friend. Thanks so much for sharing your memories.

My ex wife came from a very long line of Virginia Appalachian witches.. even had their spell book passed down from late 1600s.. she tried yo scare me until she found out that I came from a very long line of Jewish Gypsy that came over from Transylvania and I was in a long line of Seerers..

My grandfather in a welsh mine explosives man back in 1920 man was sleeping in mine he blew him up .Weird things happened there after he said to me it was like the rocks held the memory of the event. They closed the mine because of the events it was hidden to this day.The mine now berried and was purposely filled over.Elms mine .I was told 3 men went insane what happened there. The coal board spent lots to cover it up to this day.
WOW that's amazing my friend. Thanks for sharing this.
I really enjoyed this Donnie. I wish I could contact you to see if you were kin to my grandmother Frankie laws presley. Winchester Tennessee.
WOW Thanks for sharing this my friend. I don't think so my friend.
I remember growing up dad had an old single barrel shotgun and he’d go every afternoon to get meat, we survived on what dad killed, we were very poor but we kids didn’t know it. Mom bless her heart could make squirrel stew and rabbit stew we all loved. I have no desire to go back to those days, but that’s how it was, you didn’t get game you went hungry.
I understand that my friend, but most people don't have a clue about anything like that. God bless you. Thanks so much for sharing your memories.
Thank you always for sharing your finds
Your very welcome my friend.
I love your wildlife videos!!! And the way you narrate them, well I think it's fantastic and informative.
Awesome my friend. Thank you so much. God bless you. Your very welcome.
There's a misinterpretation out there that everybody on the east and west coast is a liberal elite, while everybody in the center of the country is conservative. Not true. My family's roots go deep in kentucky. Deep deep deep. My dad is a World War II veteran. My parents were progressive. There are plenty of progressives in the center of the country and plenty of idiot maga supporters on the coasts
Thanks for sharing this my friend. God bless you.
Thank you Sir. 🐿
Your very welcome my friend.
Mr. Donnie another great saga on “As the ridge turns”, we so enjoy seeing all the wildlife and the changes they go through just trying to survive! We have seen a doe here still pregnant on our camera three days ago, Thanks so much for sharing!

Your very welcome my friend. I'm doing much better. God bless you.
Good morning Donnie I love your videos
Good morning my friend. Thank you so much.
Recently a reunion was held at the historic Lost Creek Cemetery. After many months of clearing the land, we have found the foundation stones for the old Primitive Baptist Church and the upping block. Would you be interested in viewing the service that was held on the grounds.
Awesome my friend. I had noticed that they had been working on it. I found the old church foundation stones years ago. I absolutely love the place. So much history there. Thanks so much for sharing this. God bless you.
